The temperature values stated on the chart below is the substrate temperature reduction that can be achieved by using Energy Star products on a building envelope as compared to conventional materials.
The data is based on information obtained from tests conducted to ASTM E 1980-01 where the calculation is based on a mathematical formula that includes values for thermal emittance, total solar reflectance, solar absorbance, three convective coefficients, solar flux, the Stefan Boltzman constant, and various other coefficients.
Individual data sets for each colour are included in the Sub-Menu on the right.
