Independent Testing
|
Heat reflective coatings are categorized as thermally regulated paints and require a unique set of laboratory tests to be conducted on them to verify their performance and obtain specific values that define their ability to reflect solar induced heat.
Testing is done to internationally recognised reflectivity standards as listed below and when comparing different heat reflective coatings the manufacturer must be able to supply an individual test on each colour in each product they supply. For the test data to be credible the tests must be performed by a reputable external test laboratory.
In addition, the products tested must have third party independent accreditation that insures the manufacturing facility maintains the reflectivity values stated. Australian manufacturers require CodeMark Certification.
The Sub-Menu on the right contains all relevant Energy Star test documents.
